Fulham v Barnsley - Craven Cottage - Saturday 15th February 2020 - 3pm

The opposition

Barnsley’s win over Fulham on the opening day proved to be their only victory in their first 18 matches. Head coach Daniel Stendel was relieved of his duties halfway through that period, with Gerhard Struber appointed towards the end of it. After a couple of defeats, Struber led his side to a run of four wins and three draws in the next nine, which moved them up to 22nd in the standings. Things have tailed off recently, though, and just one point from a possible 15 heading into the weekend has put the Tykes back at the foot of the table.

He said

“We need a big focus in our next game and a big motivation; I don’t think motivation is a problem for my team. When we have a good concentration, it’s not easy to win points against us. I hope that we can create a good game and I trust my boys; on Saturday we have the next chance for three points.” – Barnsley head coach Gerhard Struber
